Sapporo TV Tower, Television tower in Odori Park, Japan
The Sapporo TV Tower rises 147.2 meters above Odori Park, featuring five floors and an observation deck at 90.38 meters height.
Architect Tachū Naitō completed the tower in 1957 with a construction cost of 170 million yen, establishing it as a broadcasting facility.
The tower introduces its characters Tawakkie and Television Daddy, representing the landmark through merchandise and local events throughout the year.
Visitors access the observation deck via elevators from the third floor, where they find a souvenir shop and restaurant.
Digital clocks installed in 1961 at 65 meters height display time to pedestrians, switching from traditional bulbs to LED technology in 2006.
