Aioi Station, Railway station in Aioi, Japan
Aioi Station is an elevated railway station in Aioi, Hyogo Prefecture, connecting several railway lines at one location. The facility has three side platforms and one island platform, all linked through an elevated station building above the tracks.
The station opened on July 10, 1890, under the name Naba Station. It received its current name, Aioi Station, in October 1942.
The name comes from the city where the station stands, and the facility acts as a hub for commuters and travelers switching between regional and long-distance connections. Passengers use the covered platforms and the elevated station building, which provides direct access to all tracks.
The facility sits roughly midway between Osaka and destinations farther west, and several thousand passengers pass through each day. A staffed ticket office helps travelers with questions about connections and ticket options.
The station stands at an elevation of 15 meters (49 feet) and serves as the final stop of the Ako Line, while major routes toward Kobe and Osaka also run through here. This combination of regional terminus and long-distance junction makes the facility an important transfer point in the area.
