Fukuroi Station, railway station in Fukuroi, Shizuoka prefecture, Japan
Fukuroi Station is a railway station in Fukuroi, Shizuoka Prefecture, located along the Tōkaidō Main Line. The facility has two island platforms connected by a footbridge above the tracks, with a station building containing ticket counters and automated machines for passenger use.
The station opened in 1889 when the railway line first connected Shizuoka with Hamamatsu. From 1902 to 1962, it functioned as a transfer point for the Akiha Line of Shizuoka Railway before freight operations ended in the early 1980s.
The station is easy to navigate with clear signage and helpful staff at the counters. During summer seasons and festivals, additional tracks are activated to handle increased passenger volume more smoothly.
The station received the designation CA29 in 2018, a numbering system designed to make it easier to identify locations on maps and signage. This system helps visitors find their way more quickly, especially those unfamiliar with the local language or area.
