Naebo Station, Railway station in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, Japan.
Naebo Station is a railway hub in Chūō-ku, Sapporo, located where two main lines intersect with four tracks and two island platforms connected by a footbridge. The station serves as a junction between the Hakodate Main Line and the Chitose Line.
The station opened in 1910 and was initially served only by the Hakodate Main Line before the Chitose Line services were added in 1926. This expansion made it a major transport junction in Sapporo.
The station houses the Hokkaido Railway Technology Museum, where visitors can explore how rail transportation developed across northern Japan over more than a century. The exhibits show the evolution of trains and infrastructure that shaped the region.
The station has automated ticket machines, staffed ticket offices, and a help desk called Midori no Madoguchi where passengers can ask questions. Kitaca cards are accepted at all fare gates, making entry and exit quick and simple.
The station grounds house both the JR Hokkaido Naebo Workshop and an indoor practice facility for the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters baseball team. This unusual mix of railway operations and sports facilities is rarely seen at other stations.
