Takeda Station, Railway and metro junction in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Japan
Takeda Station is a transportation junction in Fushimi-ku where the Karasuma Line metro and Kintetsu Railway networks meet. The station has two island platforms with four tracks to serve passengers transferring between the two systems.
The station opened in 1928 as Jonangu-mae Station and was renamed to its current name in 1940. This change reflected its growing importance as a transportation hub for the region.
The station handles over 17.8 million Kintetsu line passengers annually, making it an essential transportation center for the Kyoto metropolitan region.
The station provides wheelchair access and connects to local bus services for traveling throughout the area. Visitors can use different exits to reach various neighborhoods surrounding it.
Unlike every other station in the Kyoto metro system, this one operates at ground level rather than underground. This design sets it apart visually from the rest of the network.
