JR Tower, Commercial skyscraper at Sapporo Station, Japan
The 173-meter tall JR Tower combines 38 floors of retail spaces, offices, and hotel accommodations directly connected to Sapporo's main railway station point.
The construction project, initially named Sapporo-Eki Minamiguchi Sougou Kaihatsu Building, transformed into JR Tower in November 2000 before opening in March 2003.
The tower incorporates Sapporo Stellar Place, Cinema Frontier, and multiple retail establishments that represent modern Japanese commercial architecture.
The building connects directly to public transportation networks and houses the JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo from the 22nd to 36th floors.
The observation deck on the 38th floor features men's restrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering panoramic views of Sapporo during use.
