Minami-morimachi Station, Metro station in Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan
Minami-morimachi Station is an underground railway facility in Kita-ku that connects two metro lines in Osaka. The station operates with four tracks and separate platforms to serve both the Tanimachi and Sakaisuji lines.
The station started service on the Tanimachi Line in 1967 and later added the Sakaisuji Line in 1969. This expansion connected two major transit corridors through Osaka.
Located near the Osaka Temmangu Shrine and Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Arcade, the station connects travelers to traditional and commercial districts of Osaka.
The station is well-equipped with elevators and accessible restrooms for visitors with mobility needs. Travelers can also find coin lockers, ATM services, and guidance systems throughout the station.
An additional side platform was built in 1997 to accommodate growing passenger numbers at this location. This addition to the original island platform design shows how the station adapted to increased demand.
