Kyōbashi Station, Railway station in Jōtō-ku and Miyakojima-ku, Osaka, Japan
The station features four island platforms that serve multiple tracks, connecting the JR West, Keihan Railway, and Osaka Metro transit systems. It sits at the boundary between Jōtō and Miyakojima wards, functioning as a major hub in the eastern part of the city.
Operations began on October 17, 1895, as part of the early railway network in the region. An air raid on August 14, 1945, caused severe damage and led to numerous casualties on the Katamachi Line platform.
The station holds annual memorial services since 1955 to commemorate the victims of the World War II bombing that occurred at the Katamachi Line platform.
Travelers can reach multiple railway lines from this central location, including the JR Osaka Loop Line, Gakkentoshi Line, JR Tōzai Line, and Keihan Main Line. Transfer connections between different levels are marked with signage to help with orientation.
Annual memorial services have been held here since 1955 to remember those who died in the bombing that occurred on the last day of the war. In March 2018, the station received new designations: JR-O08 for the Osaka Loop Line and JR-H41 for the Tozai Line.
