Ala-Too Square, Central public square in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The square features a prominent statue of Manas, a 45-meter flagpole displaying the national flag, and the State History Museum at its perimeter.
Built in 1984 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic, the square contained a Lenin statue until its relocation in 2003.
The square hosts military parades, national celebrations, and performances, including a 2020 record-setting recitation of the Epic of Manas lasting 14 hours.
The changing of the guard ceremony occurs every two hours during summer months and every hour in winter near the national flag monument.
During the 2005 Tulip Revolution, over 15,000 protesters gathered at this square, leading to the resignation of President Askar Akayev.
