Yongdusan Park, Public park on Yongdusan Mountain, Busan, South Korea.
Yongdusan Park is a hilltop green space in central Busan, with paths, open plazas, and viewpoints over the city and harbor. The park sits on Yongdusan Hill and contains trees, statues, and a tall observation tower that rises above the surrounding rooftops.
The hill was originally known as Songhyeonsan and served various functions during the Joseon period, including as a place of refuge during times of conflict. It was later opened as a public park, becoming one of the first green spaces available to Busan's residents.
The Museum of World Folk Instruments sits within the grounds, displaying and allowing visitors to handle musical instruments from different cultures and regions. The collection reflects how communities worldwide have created and maintained their musical traditions.
The park is reachable from two nearby subway stations, with stairs and escalators leading up from Gwangbok-ro street level. The walk to the top is steady but manageable, and most visitors find it comfortable without any special preparation.
The tower in the park, known as Busan Tower, was fully renovated in 2021 and its upper section draws from the shape of a traditional Korean pagoda. Visitors who look closely can spot this reference in the rooflines, even though the rest of the structure is modern.
