Modern and Contemporary Art Museum

The Modern and Contemporary Art Museum in Byblos is an art museum dedicated to displaying contemporary and modern works. The building features two main exhibition halls organized to showcase different artistic approaches and mediums.

The museum opened in 2013 inside a former factory that once produced wax crayons and paper bags. Converting an industrial building into an art space marked a shift toward supporting local creative work.

The museum displays works by Lebanese artists and lets visitors discover local artistic voices and how contemporary creators express themselves today. The space documents what concerns artists in the region and how they work now.

The museum is located in Byblos and is easiest to reach from the Qartaba exit off the coastal highway. It is open several days a week, so visitors should check current opening hours before planning a visit.

One hall is specifically organized by the materials artists used, letting visitors compare works made from similar substances. This offers a different way to experience and understand the artworks on display.
