The Parque Japón Nicaragua spans 8,119 square meters and features replicas of Mount Fuji and Momotombo volcano within its designed natural landscape.
The park opened on February 28, 2005, marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nicaragua, with Japanese Ambassador Mitsuhiro Kagami attending.
The garden includes a karesansui section with stone patterns representing rivers and lakes, along with traditional Japanese stone lanterns and wooden bridges.
Located on Miguel Obando y Bravo Avenue, the park connects Masaya Highway to Altamira's main road and contains multiple walking paths.
The Japanese government contributed one million dollars toward the park's construction, while Managua's municipality funded the remaining ninety-one thousand dollars.
