Petron Megaplaza, Office skyscraper in Makati, Philippines.
Petron Megaplaza is an office tower in Makati with 45 floors above ground and 5 basement levels. The building houses workspaces for multiple international corporations along its gleaming glass and steel exterior.
The building was completed in 1998 as the tallest structure in the Philippines at that time. This record stood until 2000, when another tower surpassed its height.
The architectural firm Skidmore Owings Merrill incorporated Philippine business practices into the design, creating efficient office spaces that accommodate local corporate customs.
The building sits at the intersection of Gil Puyat Avenue and Makati Avenue, making it easy to reach by public transportation. With 18 elevators in operation, moving between office floors is quick and straightforward.
The structural design resulted from collaboration between local firm Aromin + Sy & Associates and international consultancy Ove Arup & Partners. This partnership brought together local expertise and global engineering knowledge for the project.
