Passu Sar, Mountain summit in Gilgit District, Pakistan.
Passu Sar reaches an elevation of 7,478 meters within the Batura Muztagh section of the Karakoram range, featuring steep ice walls and numerous crevasses.
The German expedition team of Max Wallner, Dirk Naumann, Ralf Lehmann, and Volker Wurnig achieved the first documented ascent of Passu Sar on August 7, 1994.
The mountain name originates from local languages of the Hunza Valley, where different ethnic groups maintain their traditional practices in surrounding settlements.
Climbers require 500 to 700 meters of rope, ice screws, snow tubes, and two ladders for navigating the technical sections between base camp and higher elevations.
The peak stands 7 kilometers east of Batura Sar, creating a natural border within Khunjerab National Park with a prominence of 647 meters above surrounding terrain.
