Batura Sar, Mountain peak in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan
Batura Sar reaches an elevation of 7,795 meters, making it the 25th highest mountain on Earth and the 10th highest peak in Pakistan.
The first successful climb of Batura Sar occurred in 1976 when the Göppingen Karakoram-Himalaya Expedition, led by Dr. Alexander Schlee, reached the summit.
The mountain stands within the Upper Hunza region of Gojal Valley, where local communities maintain traditional practices while adapting to mountain tourism.
Climbers accessing Batura Sar establish their base camp on the Baltar Glacier and must navigate multiple high-altitude camps during their ascent.
The Batura Wall extends over 11 kilometers at elevations exceeding 7,000 meters, creating one of the longest high-altitude mountain ridges in the Karakoram range.
