Ganga Choti, Mountain peak in Bagh District, Pakistan
Ganga Choti is a mountain peak in the Pir Panjal Range located in Bagh District, rising to 3,044 meters above sea level. The summit offers views across the Jehlum Valley and neighboring mountain ranges, with the border towns of Sudhan Gali and Bani Minhasan visible below.
The peak received its name from local Hindu residents who lived in the region before the Partition of India in 1947. This historical connection persists today in the geographic names throughout the area.
The mountain serves as a winter sports destination where local visitors enjoy skiing and sledding when snow covers the slopes. These activities shape how people experience and gather at the site during the colder season.
Two main routes lead to the summit, one from Chikkar and another along the Bagh Sudhan Gali Road, with the trek from Sudhan Gali covering roughly 8 kilometers uphill. The warmer months offer the most accessible conditions for making the climb.
A tower and observatory occupy the summit, allowing visitors to examine the surrounding landscape in detail. This installation makes the site a distinctive location for observing the mountain region.
