Ghanta Ghar, Colonial clock tower in Multan, Pakistan.

Ghanta Ghar is a four-story administrative building in Multan topped by a prominent clock tower centered on its facade. The structure displays Indo-Saracenic architecture with arches, columns, and detailed stone carvings that ornament its exterior walls.

The British administration built this structure in 1884 following legislation that required new administrative offices for the rapidly growing city. Construction was part of a larger effort to modernize Multan's governance infrastructure during the late colonial period.

The building is known today as Jinnah Hall, named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. This renaming following independence reflects how the city marked its shift away from colonial governance.

The building sits in central Multan and is easily reached on foot from the main shopping and business districts. The solar-powered clocks clearly display Pakistan Standard Time, making the location easy to spot and useful for checking the time.

The building occupies the site of a former private residence that was destroyed during a military conflict in the city's past. This history remains largely unknown to casual visitors but is still remembered by local residents.
