Bielany, Administrative district in northern Warsaw, Poland

Bielany is a northern Warsaw district characterized by extensive forests and parks that cover roughly a third of the area. The landscape balances university buildings with open green spaces and tree-lined streets.

The district takes its name from white-robed Camaldolese monks who established a monastery here in the mid-1600s. This religious foundation marked the beginning of organized settlement in the area.

Students from the physical education and theological universities shape daily life here, bringing youth and movement to streets and public spaces.

Four metro stations link the district to central Warsaw, while cycling routes thread through the forests and green areas. Good transport connections make it easy to navigate or move through the neighborhood.

Old oak trees growing in the forest are remnants of the ancient Mazovian woodland that once covered the entire region. Walking among them offers a glimpse into what the landscape looked like centuries ago.
