Kasprowy Wierch, Mountain peak in Tatra County, Poland.

Kasprowy Wierch is a mountain peak in the High Tatras reaching approximately 1,987 meters, with four ridges that intersect at its summit. The structure provides multiple routes and viewpoints accessible from different directions for visitors.

A cable car system built between 1935 and 1936 made this mountain one of the first accessible peaks in Europe using modern transportation. This project set an early standard for mountain cable car infrastructure and changed how people could experience the summit.

The mountain has housed meteorological and astronomical observatories since 1938, which remain active in documenting atmospheric conditions and phenomena. Visitors can observe the scientific work and understand how this place serves the research community.

Access is provided by a cable car system with an intermediate station at Mount Myślenicke Turnie, where visitors find restaurants and additional facilities. Plan for rapidly changing conditions at the summit and bring adequate clothing and gear for safe exploration.

The summit experiences tundra-like climate conditions with extreme temperature swings between roughly minus 10 degrees Celsius in January and 23 degrees Celsius in July. This harsh environment creates an ecosystem that feels distinctly different from the valleys below.
