Silesian Beskids Landscape Park

Landschaftsschutzpark Schlesische Beskiden is a protected mountain landscape in Żywiec County with forests, valleys, and numerous trails winding through the area. The park contains multiple mountain ridges and creates different habitats for wildlife and vegetation throughout its terrain.

The protected area was established in the late 1990s to safeguard the natural mountain environments of the region. This designation aimed to preserve ecologically important mountain landscapes from development.

Local mountain communities have preserved traditional ways of living that connect closely to the rhythms of nature and seasonal changes. You can see these customs reflected in how people inhabit and use the mountain villages throughout the region.

Visitors can enter the area through various routes across the region and find information centers with maps available. The mountain trails are accessible on foot and offer different difficulty levels for various fitness abilities.

The area contains numerous mountain peaks that exceed 1,000 meters in elevation. From the highest point, Skrzyczne, visitors can see far across the surrounding landscape on clear days.
