Cula Greceanu

Cula Greceanu is a three-level stone building with multiple rooms, a cellar featuring shooting holes, and two arcaded loggias. The architecture displays Brâncoveanu style with decorative elements that are typical of this period in Romanian design.

The building began as a defensive tower in the 16th century under Nan Paharnicul. It was extensively rebuilt between 1780 and 1790 by Gheorghe Maldarescu and his wife Eva into its current form.

Inside, the rooms feature traditional Turkish-style seating with divans separated by low tables. This layout reflects how Ottoman customs shaped the way Romanian noble families lived and entertained guests.

In 1934, Olga Greceanu painted frescoes depicting family stories in one of the adjoining rooms. These murals are a surprising artistic addition that many visitors discover while exploring the building.
