Zvezdara Forest, Natural monument in Zvezdara, Serbia.
Zvezdara Forest is a protected natural area on Zvezdara Hill that covers a large expanse with many types of trees and plants. It has several paths for walking and exploring that wind through dense woodland.
The forest began as a planting project in 1933, with major work taking place between 1948 and 1950 when local scouts and community groups participated. These early efforts formed the foundation of the woodland we see today.
The forest serves as a gathering place where neighbors walk and spend time together in nature. Schools and environmental groups use it to teach visitors about the local plants and animals found here.
The forest is easy to reach on foot from the surrounding neighborhood with several entry points. Wear comfortable shoes and be ready for varied path surfaces.
The woodland is home to around 48 bird species, including protected types like common buzzards and tawny owls. This makes it a special place for city dwellers interested in watching birds.
