Ras Museum Novi Pazar

The Ras Museum operates from a restored 19th-century building that originally served as a Turkish gymnasium with exhibition halls distributed across two floors. Its collections span archaeological discoveries, ethnographic objects, historical documents, and applied arts from the Raška and Sandžak regions.

The institution was founded in 1953 as the City Museum and relocated to its current building in 1957 under its new name. This move enabled the preservation of a significantly larger and more diverse collection of objects from local history.

The collections reveal how people dressed and lived in this region over centuries through displayed clothing, crafts, and household items. Walking through the exhibition halls shows the daily practices and skills that shaped community life.
