Kubinka

Kubinka is a town in Moscow Oblast, Russia, situated along the Setun River west of the capital. It serves as a residential and working community with military-related institutions and museums as notable features.

The settlement emerged in the 15th century and took its name from a local nobleman. In the late 1800s, the Moscow-Smolensk railway line brought significant growth and transformed it from a small village into a more developed community.

The Tank Museum here displays military vehicles from different eras, including rare Soviet tanks and captured German models that played roles in 20th-century conflicts. Visitors walk among machines that shaped warfare history and can observe how different nations approached tank design.

Suburban trains connect the town to Moscow's Belorussky railway station, with journeys taking roughly an hour and a half in each direction. The Patriot Park is accessible from the train station via a dedicated route that brings visitors directly to the military exhibitions.

The collection includes a German tank model so heavy and complex that only a handful were ever built. This machine remains one of the rarest of its kind and offers insight into the most extreme design decisions of the war years.
