St. Basil's Cathedral, Eastern Orthodox church on Red Square, Russia

The cathedral features nine central chapels topped with multicolored domes arranged around a central tower reaching a height of 47.5 meters.

Tsar Ivan IV ordered the construction of this church in 1555 to commemorate the successful military campaign against the Khanate of Kazan.

Each chapel interior contains religious artifacts, medieval paintings, and wooden icons representing different periods of Russian Orthodox religious traditions.

The cathedral opens daily except Wednesdays from 10:00 to 17:00, with entrance tickets available at the main entrance near the Red Square.

The structure combines traditional Russian architectural elements with Eastern influences, resulting in an architectural composition unlike any other religious building.
