Aksay, Administrative center in Rostov Oblast, Russia.

Aksay sits on the right bank of the Don River, positioned about 18 kilometers northeast of Rostov-on-Don at an elevation of 80 meters. The town functions as an industrial center with manufacturing facilities that form the backbone of the local economy.

The settlement emerged in 1570 as Ust-Aksayskaya and was known as Aksayskaya for centuries before receiving town status in 1957 under its current name. The place served as a customs checkpoint on important trade routes connecting distant regions.

The Museum Complex Customs Outpost exhibits daily life of customs officers through weapons, antique maps, and handwritten documents spanning different periods. These collections reveal the town's former role as a checkpoint along trade routes.

The town is easily accessible through connections to Rostov-on-Don and offers accommodation and dining options for visitors. The surrounding areas near the river and museums can be explored on foot, so having a map or navigation app helps with orientation.

The Military-Historical Complex at Mukhina Balka displays Soviet and Russian military vehicles and equipment across expansive outdoor grounds. Beneath this exhibition sits an underground command post that reveals rare technical aspects of Cold War operations.
