Alexander Garden, Public park near Kremlin, Moscow, Russia.
The Alexander Garden extends for 865 meters along the western wall of the Kremlin, divided into three sections called Upper, Middle, and Lower gardens.
The park emerged between 1819 and 1823 under architect Osip Bove after covering the Neglinnaya River, marking the reconstruction of Moscow following the 1812 fire.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Upper Garden contains remains from a defender of Moscow, with an eternal flame transported from Leningrad's Field of Mars.
Five metro stations provide access to the garden: Biblioteka Imeni Lenina, Okhotny Ryad, Ploshchad Revolyutsii, Aleksandrovsky Sad, and Borovitskaya.
The garden features a grotto constructed from actual fragments of Moscow buildings destroyed during the French occupation, incorporating four marble columns.
