Park Pobedy, Metro station in Dorogomilovo District, Russia.
Park Pobedy is a metro station in the Dorogomilovo District of Moscow that serves two lines of the Moscow Metro: the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya and Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya lines. Two island platforms here allow passengers to transfer easily between the two lines.
Construction began in 1986 and the station opened on May 6, 2003 as part of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line. The extended timeline between start and opening resulted from complex engineering challenges and several planning modifications.
The walls feature large mosaic panels created by artist Zurab Tsereteli depicting scenes from the 1812 war and World War II. These artworks connect the station to the war memorials and history that define the area.
The station has multiple entrances and connects to Victory Park and the Museum of the Great Patriotic War through an underground passage beneath Kutuzovsky Prospect. Plan extra time when transferring between lines or visiting nearby attractions.
The station has some of Europe's longest escalators at about 126 meters (413 feet) long with roughly 740 steps. The ride up takes about three minutes, making this a remarkable part of the visit.
