Neklinovsky District, Municipal district in Rostov Oblast, Russia.
Neklinovsky District is a municipal area in western Rostov Oblast that surrounds the city of Taganrog and borders Ukraine. The region encompasses some 126 rural settlements and sits within the Don River basin.
The district was established in 1936 as an administrative entity built on a region shaped by Zaporozhian Cossacks. The settlement of Pokrovskoye was founded by these Cossacks in 1769 and became the seat of local governance.
The settlements across the district reflect rural life where Russian and Cossack customs remain visible in how communities organize and celebrate together. Traditional ways of living and working with the land continue to shape daily rhythms.
Pokrovskoye serves as the administrative center where you'll find essential services and transportation connections throughout the region. The best time to visit is spring or early fall when weather is comfortable and the agricultural landscape is active.
The region sits in an area where diverse crops and livestock farming have become the lifeblood of local economy thanks to favorable conditions in the Don River basin. This agricultural focus shapes the entire character and daily work of the population.
