Plastun Port, Commercial port in Plastun, Russia
Plastun Port is a commercial facility on Russia's Pacific coast with five berths spanning 810 meters (2,650 feet). The installation can handle vessels at water depths ranging from 4.5 to 8.1 meters (15 to 26 feet) and operates cargo machines for loading and unloading.
The port was established in 1969 following a decree by the Central Committee of the Communist Party and the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union. This decision was part of a broader effort to develop the Russian Far East.
The port reflects Russian maritime practices developed through generations of forest industry work in this region. Visitors can notice how the facilities are shaped around timber handling and processing.
The port remains accessible to ships throughout the year and can process around 1 million tons of cargo annually. Two tugboats assist vessels with navigation and docking operations.
The port operates under the maritime trade port of Olga and serves as a primary export point for forest products from the Russian Far East. This specialized role makes it a key hub for regional timber commerce.
