Al Majma'ah

Al Majma'ah is a city in the Riyadh Region located in central Saudi Arabia, serving as an administrative center for the Sudair area. The city spreads across a large territory and hosts Majmaah University, which opened in 2009 with colleges focused on engineering, medical sciences, and applied fields.

The city was founded in 1417 when Abdullah Bin Saif al-Shammary al-Maibar from the Shammar tribe established the settlement. This early origin shaped the region's development over the following centuries.

The city holds several Islamic monuments and a museum displaying regional artifacts that reflect local heritage. An 18th-century mud-brick fort still shapes how residents and visitors see the local architecture.

Visitors can navigate the city easily thanks to its role as an administrative center with modern facilities and clear layouts. The best time to explore is during cooler months when temperatures are more comfortable for walking around.

The city's name comes from the meeting point of two wadis, Wadi al-Mashqar and Wadi al-Kalb, which shaped the landscape. Al-Majma'ah literally means gathering place in Arabic, reflecting this geographical feature.
