Al Artaweeiyah is a small settlement in Riyadh Province located at an elevation of about 609 meters (2000 feet), positioned on the route between Riyadh and Kuwait. Al Artaweeiyah served as an early gathering point for Ikhwan fighters in the early 1900s, a movement that sought to follow strict Islamic principles and shaped the foundations of the Saudi state.
