Lambarfjärden, Fjard in Stockholm and Ekerö municipalities, Sweden.
Lambarfjärden is a fjard in the eastern part of Lake Mälaren, located across Stockholm and Ekerö municipalities. The waterway stretches between Hässelby to the northeast, Lovön to the south, and Färingsö to the west, with two islands, Lambarön and Hässelby Holme, sitting within its boundaries.
The name comes from Lambarudd, where farmers historically kept sheep on the northern tip of Lovön island during spring lambing season. These old pastoral practices left their mark on the place names around this part of the lake.
The waterway holds significance for winter sports enthusiasts who practice long-distance ice skating when temperatures allow for sufficient ice formation.
The fjard is accessible by boat and reaches depths of around 66 meters at its deepest point. Visitors on the water should be prepared for changing conditions, as this deep bay can become rough during windy weather.
A tunnel for the Stockholm Bypass project runs 60 meters beneath the waterbed, connecting Kungens Kurva in the south to Häggvik in the north. This underground project keeps the landscape above untouched while carrying modern infrastructure beneath a historic lake region.
