Pyšné sedlo, Mountain pass in Western Tatras, Slovakia.
Kamenistasattel is a mountain pass in the Western Tatras at 1,791 meters elevation between the peaks Blyst and Velka Kamenista. It serves as a link between different valleys and hiking routes that cross this section of the range.
The pass has functioned as a natural border crossing between Slovakia and Poland for centuries, marking the easternmost saddle of the Western Tatras. Hikers have used this route as a key transit point between the two countries for generations.
Local mountaineers maintain several designated hiking trails through the pass, connecting the Slovak village of Pribylina with the Polish community of Koscielisko.
Access is through a three-hour hike from Podbanske following the blue-marked trail, with red-marked paths offering alternative approaches to the pass. Sturdy footwear and weather protection are essential because mountain conditions change rapidly at this elevation.
The pass collects temporary water surfaces after heavy rainfall despite having no permanent mountain lakes nearby. These fleeting pools appear and disappear depending on precipitation and the season.
