Dakar station

Dakar station is a railway terminus and protected historical building in Senegal's capital that serves train connections to various regions of the country. The structure features columns, vaulted ceilings, and multiple platforms for different railway lines.

The facility opened in 1885 and developed into the primary railway hub connecting the capital with inland regions of the country. Since then it has maintained its role as a central transportation node for passenger traffic.

In front of the station building stands a monument honoring Demba and Dupont, two African soldiers who served in both World Wars. This monument is often overlooked by visitors even though it tells an important story about local veterans and their contributions.
