Massalikoul Djinane Mosque

The Massalikoul Djinane Mosque is a large religious building in the Colobane district that stands out with five minarets and four domes. The complex spreads across extensive grounds with a central prayer hall and a spacious courtyard surrounding it.

The land was provided in the early 2000s, allowing construction of this religious center to begin. The building was completed in 2019 and became an important landmark for the community.

The mosque is dedicated to the Mouride brotherhood and its name translates to 'paths to paradise' in Arabic. Visitors notice architectural details throughout that honor Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba.

The grounds are spacious and can accommodate many visitors both inside the building and on the outer courtyard. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing and be aware of prayer times.

The interior features Italian marble and French crystal chandeliers, making it an architecturally elaborate space. This ornate decoration is uncommon in religious buildings of this scale in the region.
