Bosaso

Bosasso sits along the northeastern coast of Somalia, functioning as a commercial center with an international port handling livestock shipments to Middle Eastern nations.

The settlement originated in the 14th century when trader Qasim established a settlement, leading to its former name Bandar Qasim before evolving into Bosasso.

The port of Bosasso serves as the primary departure point for the Eastern Migration Route, recording over 90,000 crossings toward Yemen in 2019.
