Emporium, Shopping mall in Bangkok
Emporium is a multi-floor shopping center on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok's Khlong Tan district, with stores spread across several levels covering fashion, accessories, and home goods. A supermarket sits in the basement, and the upper floors are arranged around a central atrium with wide corridors and natural light coming in from above.
The center opened in the late 1990s and was one of the first upmarket shopping destinations along the Sukhumvit corridor. Over time it went through renovations and is now part of a cluster of malls run by the same operator in the same stretch of the district.
The name Emporium comes from a Latin word for a trading place, and the center still feels like one today. On weekday afternoons, you can watch Bangkok residents browse the upper floors for fashion and homewares, or stop at the food court for a quick meal between shops.
The center sits next to the Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain station, so it is easy to reach without a car. Weekday visits tend to be calmer, with more room to move between floors and shorter waits at the food court.
A covered bridge connects the Emporium directly to the EmQuartier mall next door, so visitors can walk between the two without stepping outside. Together they form one of the longest connected shopping stretches along Sukhumvit Road, making it easy to spend a full day moving between both buildings.
