Manisa Archeology Museum, Archaeological museum in Çarşı Mahallesi, Turkey
The Archaeological Museum of Manisa occupies three sections in a former school building, displaying regional artifacts from prehistoric times to the 20th century.
The museum opened in 1937 and underwent renovations before reopening in 2012, housed in the historic complex of Muradiye Mosque constructed by Mimar Sinan.
The exhibits present collections from ancient Magnesia and Sardes, including marble idols, drill stones, and artifacts illustrating Lydian civilization development.
Located 40 kilometers northeast of Izmir, the museum welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 8:00 to 17:00 with guided tours available.
The museum contains gold sheep sculptures and silver vessels from Gökçeler tumulus, along with fossil samples dating back 18 million years.
