Bornova Aşık Veysel Heykeli, Folk poet memorial in Atatürk, Turkey.
The Bornova Aşık Veysel statue reaches 5 meters in height and combines polyester with mud materials in its construction at Atatürk neighborhood.
The monument was inaugurated on September 25, 2010, marking a tribute to the Turkish folk poet who lived from 1894 to 1973.
The statue represents Aşık Veysel, who composed poems about nature and social matters despite losing his sight during childhood.
The recreation area surrounding the statue includes a specialized lighting system that illuminates the figure's chest area during evening hours.
The construction process required five tons of clay before the final polyester coating was applied to ensure durability against weather conditions.
