Paterson Mansion

The Paterson Mansion is a house in Bornova with stone walls, large windows, and traditional Turkish architectural elements, surrounded by gardens near the Ergene River. Inside, the rooms combine living spaces with valuable details that reflect life from the 1800s.

The house was built in 1860 and first served as a home for wealthy families. Later it became a place where Turkey's founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed during his visits to the region.

The building is located within the grounds of the former Alpullu Sugar Factory and is currently undergoing restoration. Visitors should expect that some parts of the house may still be under work, but the rooms are open for viewing and offer insight into the interior.
