Atatürk Forest Farm and Zoo is a sprawling complex with agricultural fields, recreational areas, and animal exhibits spread across about 32 hectares. The site also includes greenhouses, dining facilities, a dairy operation, and a brewing facility.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk founded this agricultural complex in 1925 as a personal farm and transferred it to Turkish state control in 1937. The shift to government stewardship shaped its development into a significant center for farming advancement.
The farm demonstrates traditional Turkish farming methods working alongside modern production that supplies fresh goods to local restaurants. Visitors can observe how these two approaches coexist in the daily operations across the grounds.
The grounds are accessible by public transportation and offer plenty of walking paths connecting the zoo areas, gardens, and facilities. Visitors can move easily between the different sections on foot throughout the day.
