Presidential Library, Modern library in Presidential Complex, Yenimahalle, Turkey
The Presidential Library is a modern cultural institution within the Presidential Complex, designed with multiple buildings that house reading areas, exhibition spaces, and specialized facilities. The structure integrates contemporary architecture with functional rooms dedicated to researchers, students, and general visitors.
The institution was established in 2020 as a national project and represents one of the largest library investments in Turkish Republican history. It was created to gather and preserve knowledge and written records from various periods and cultures.
The Cihannuma Hall features 200,000 books about historical Turkic states and displays Quran verses about reading and writing on its dome.
Access is available during public hours for all visitors, and the facility provides special entrances and designated areas for people with mobility limitations. The various sections are clearly marked, making it easy for visitors to locate the resources they need.
The collection holds the Diwan Lughat al-Turk, the oldest comprehensive dictionary of Turkic languages from the eleventh century. This historical work demonstrates the long tradition of recording language and its importance for understanding Turkish cultural history.
