Grot van Beldibi

Grot van Beldibi is an archaeological cave near Kemer featuring two distinct chambers made of flint. The structure shows evidence of early human occupation throughout both sections.

The cave was inhabited during the Upper Paleolithic period and contains tools and animal bones from that era. Discoveries in both chambers document thousands of years of human presence at this location.

The cave walls display rock art made with mineral pigments, showing human figures, deer, and goats from prehistoric times. These images reveal how early inhabitants saw the world and the animals around them.

The location sits near Kemer and is accessible by the D400 road with a turn toward the sea at the Chamdag Tunnel. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and pay attention to the layout of both chambers.

This cave holds one of the few known collections of rock art from western Asia featuring both naturalistic and geometric patterns. The combination of these two artistic styles in one place offers rare insight into prehistoric creativity.
