Faruk Yalçın Zoo, Zoo and botanical garden in Kocaeli, Turkey
The Faruk Yalçın Zoo spans across a large area featuring 286 animal species, 3600 individual animals, and 8000 plants from 600 different varieties.
Established in 1993, the facility began as a bird sanctuary and gradually expanded through substantial support from businessman Faruk Yalçın until his passing in 2008.
The zoo connects with local communities through educational programs, teaching children about wildlife conservation while fostering respect for nature and animals.
Located on İstasyon Street in Yalı District of Darıca, the zoo maintains regular operations from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM throughout the week.
The facility combines three distinct environments: a traditional zoo, a botanical garden, and a bird sanctuary, creating an integrated nature experience.
