Kaiser II. Wilhelm Mansion

The Kaiser II. Wilhelm Mansion is a wooden residence positioned near the shore in Körfez with multiple entrances that open to both land and water-facing sections. Today it functions as a museum displaying period furnishings, traditional carpets, and artifacts from the late 1800s Ottoman-German era.

Sultan Abdulhamid II ordered this mansion's construction in 1884 to house German Emperor Wilhelm II during diplomatic visits to the region. The building emerged as a symbol of Ottoman-German relations during a crucial period in both nations' histories.

The rooms display a blend of Ottoman and European design, with Hereke carpets, silk furnishings, and furniture from European sources placed side by side. These choices reveal how the mansion's owners valued both traditions and wove them into their daily surroundings.
