Kaiser II. Wilhelm Mansion

The wooden mansion sits near the sea, featuring multiple doors that provide access to both land and waterfront sections of the property.

Sultan Abdulhamid II ordered the construction of this mansion in 1884 to accommodate German Emperor Wilhelm II during his diplomatic visits to Izmit.

The interior decoration combines Ottoman and European elements, including Hereke woven carpets, silk upholstery, and furniture imported from European palaces.

The mansion stands as a museum displaying period furniture, traditional carpets, and historical artifacts that represent late 19th-century Ottoman-German relations.

The entire structure was prefabricated at Yildiz Palace, transported by sea, and assembled at its current location in just twenty-four hours.
