Da'an District, Urban district in Taipei, Taiwan
Da'an is an administrative district in Taichung that mixes residential neighborhoods with commercial areas and public facilities. The area contains schools, markets, temples, and everyday shops that serve the local population.
The district originated from an earlier settlement that was later reorganized under its current administrative boundaries. Over time, it developed from a smaller residential area into an established urban district serving the city.
Three national universities, including National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University, establish Daan as the educational center of Taipei.
The district is easily accessible by local buses and has walkable main streets with shops and food vendors. Most attractions are spread throughout the area, so walking or using buses works well for getting around.
Yongkang Street concentrates numerous food establishments, while Linjiang Night Market presents local specialties and traditional merchandise.
