Yongkang District

Yongkang District is an administrative area in Tainan that combines urban zones with residential neighborhoods and several large universities. The area includes commercial centers alongside green spaces, blending developed and quieter sections throughout its landscape.

The area grew from rural origins into an urban center, undergoing significant administrative changes that shaped its current form. These transformations established its position as an important part of the region.

The district hosts the Taiwan Metal Creation Museum and various markets where visitors can see local crafts and traditional goods displayed. These spaces reflect how artisanal work and local heritage remain part of everyday life here.

Two train stations connect the district to broader transportation networks, and a major highway provides direct road access. With multiple universities and shopping zones spread throughout, the area is fairly easy to navigate on foot or by public transit.

The area is home to the Chi Mei Medical Center, one of the region's most advanced hospital facilities. At the same time, Jiyu Lake sits within its boundaries, offering recreation alongside healthcare.
