Jincheng Township, Township seat in Kinmen County, Taiwan.

Jincheng Township spans the southwestern portion of Kinmen Island and contains eight urban villages along with various government buildings. The area connects to other locations through Shuitou Pier and has local bus services for getting around within the township.

From 1949 to 1956, this area served as the capital of Fujian Province, a period that shaped its political importance. This role ended when administrative structures changed and the area took on its new function.

The area houses several temples and traditional buildings that blend Taiwanese and Fujianese building styles in visible ways. Walking through the streets, you notice how these two traditions shape the appearance of structures and their decorative elements.

The best way to arrive is by ferry from Shuitou Pier, which runs regularly and brings you to the island. Within the area, local bus lines help you get around between the different villages and facilities.

A power plant called Tashan supplies electricity to the entire area and is a major industrial facility. The plant is central to one of the economic foundations of the island.
