Chenggong

Chenggong extends over 144 square kilometers along the Pacific Ocean coast with a population density of 92 people per square kilometer in 2023.

The area contains archaeological evidence from the Kirin culture dating back 3500 years, including stone walls, stone coffins, and stone axes throughout the region.

The population of Chenggong includes 53 percent Amis indigenous people who maintain their traditions through events like the Harvest Festival between July and August.

The township connects to major cities through Provincial Highway 11, while the Chenggong Fish Harbor serves as the largest fishing port on Taiwan's East Coast.

Marine resources support the local economy through skipjack tuna, swordfish, and dolphin fish catches, along with growing abalone aquaculture production.
